Hi! I am Melanie Fensick. As the owner of Higher Level Fitness, I have a passion for helping build strong women both inside and out. I know firsthand how it feels to be watching from the sidelines because you don’t feel you have what it takes to join in. Growing up I was the quietest, shyest person you will ever meet. I didn’t have the confidence or coordination to do sports or reallyanything that required me to be active. But by lucky chance (and by that I mean my mom forcing me), I tried a karate class. In the beginning I felt totally out of place. I didn’t even have the ability to stand on one foot in order to throw a kick.
However, over time, self-defense helped me find a power within myself that I didn’t know I had. It also introduced me to fitness in a way that was all about self-improvement rather than competition or comparison. Over the years, fitness and self-defense have given me the confidence to travel and explore places, and do activities I never dreamed I could do. I’ve also made some great friends along the way. Now it is my mission to give back to women what fitness has given me – self-confidence, good health, and a great support network of friends.
At Higher Level Fitness we strive to make exercise feel like something that you GET to do, not something you HAVE to do. Let’s put the FUN back into working out!
